Marching Illini Flag Corps

Auditions for the 2008 season will be held on April 5th and 26th from 9am to 3pm. You must attend only one audition. Please meet at the Harding Band Building no later than 8:45am. Weather permitting, the audition will be held there; if not, we will move to IMPE. Please arrive at the designated time, so we can start promplty at 9.

What will the day consist of?

The day is broken into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning will consist of a workshop at which a routine and marching basics will be taught. A lunch break will be given from 12-1; however, during the break, the captains will stay to answer any questions. The auditions will begin at 1 and will be given in groups of three. You must attend both the morning and afternoon sessions to audition.

Do I need to prepare a routine ahead of time?

No, you do not need to prepare a routine. The tryout routine will be taught during the morning session.

What size of flags do you spin/do I need to bring my own?

We spin 5'6" flags. A flag will be supplied to each person auditioning so you do not need to bring your own.

What should I wear?

We do not require that you wear special attire. However, you should come prepared to move around; dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

When will the audition results be available?

The squad will be selected after the second audition date and each person will be notified shortly after.
